How well do you really know yourself? When did you last look at yourself without judgment? Have you listened deeply to yourself? Have you expressed your feelings and your longings?

Before we can live and care for the world by being compassionate, we need to know ourselves better and practice self-compassion first.
Our society deludes us into thinking we are not perfect in order to sell us their goods and services to consume that promise to fill the hole of becoming more beautiful, happier and successful - but in reality, we lack nothing when we are filled with love and compassion and feel connected to the web of life.
Mindful and therapeutic photography can help with this process 📷❤️

The camera is a witness. The camera listens without judging. The power of photography is to "make visible", as photographer Jo Spence so aptly put it.
Before you can love and care for the world, the first step you need to take is to start loving yourself - with all your edges - to practice self-compassion. Because we only love and care for what we know, what we are familiar with and relate to. There are layers upon layers to discover and reintegrate in order to become whole and (re)find our authentic selves.

In the hectic world we live in, we often forget to pay enough attention to ourselves. We are so busy trying to meet the expectations of others and the demands of everyday life that we neglect ourselves. Mindful photography offers a unique opportunity to connect with yourself and the life around you and to see yourself in a new light. When you look through the lens of a camera, you take time to consciously notice the world around you. You not only look at outer beauty but also explore your own thoughts, feelings and inner conflicts. In this process, you learn to look at yourself without judgment and to accept yourself as you are.

Photography also encourages you to express your feelings and desires. Every image you capture tells a story - your story. By capturing moments that are meaningful to you, you can express your emotions and your connection to the world around you. Self-compassion is the key to inner healing and developing a deeper connection with yourself and others. When you can treat yourself with love and compassion, you are better able to feel compassion for others and positively influence the world around you.

So why not pick up the camera and start with mindful photography? Let the camera be your witness, listening without prejudice and helping you to know yourself better. Look through the lens, explore your thoughts and feelings, express yourself and practice self-compassion.
